Genoa

Genoa is a very old city and, apart from the main roads, is a maze of small streets so a map is essential.

Our Opinion

The Jolly Boys trip to Genoa was actually a grand rail tour of Europe (or part of it at least) taking in Nice, Genoa, Milan and Geneva.
Genoa's harbour area is full of historical vessels and don't forget to try the Genoa cake or Genoa bread to be more accurate, it's nothing like you get in Marks & Spencers!
There's lots to see and do and eating and drinking is cheap with plentiful opportunity for both. We chose to stay slightly down the coast at Quarto dei Mille which is a short journey away from Genoa by either train or bus.
This was a great place to stay providing us with ample drinking outlets and also a restaurant that not only made possibly the best pizzas we have ever had but also afforded spectacular views out to sea.
Details of our onward trip can be found on the Geneva page.
