Torremolinos

The Old Town..

Our Opinion

Like many of the towns on the Costa del Sol, Torremolinos is split into two parts. The beachfront area catering exclusively for holidaymakers and the old town which retains a much more Spanish feel. At the time of our visit, much of Malaga resembled a building site as major improvement work is taking place
We didn't venture into the seaside part of Torremolinos as we're not interested in visiting Paddy's Irish Bar, Fritz's Bierkeller, The Rose & Crown and the likes but we were pleasantly surprised by the old town which is fairly small and easily explored in a day. A decent map is a good idea though.
Aside from the building work Malaga is a pleasant city with a number of interesting places to see. We used the CitySightseeing bus to see the sights, a round trip takes about one and a half hours but as your ticket is valid all day you can easily plan an itinerary around the bus route.
There are many bars and restaurants in the old town of Torremolinos and we've included our favourites in the new recommendations section. It's fair to say that just about every taste can be catered for and we had no trouble with the service or standard of food anywhere we went.

Accommodation
Hotel N.Ch, Torremolinos
A good hotel situated in the old town of Torremolinos near to a number of good restaurants and cafes. The hotel has a restaurant although it was closed (apart from breakfast) when we visited. There is no bar although cold drinks are available from a fridge in the reception area. However the number of bars in the vicinity means that this is not a problem.
